Merry Christmas! Step back to the 19th century and meet Papa Noel and the Creole Christmas traditions of yesterday.
This tour will be offered daily during the holiday school break, from the 20th of December through to the 5th of January.
Tours will not run on Christmas Day and New Years Day- Sorry!
Do you remember that feeling you had as a kid on Christmas morning? Way before your parents were awake and the sun had barely poked its head out. That magical feeling of knowing that somehow, Santa had managed once again to sneak in the house and leave you goodies galore.
This tour takes that magic and runs with it. We bring kids all over the world, to hear what magical treats kids received 200 years ago. We'll find out what Santa looked like before he came to America. And we'll learn what toys kept these Creole boys and girls squealing each Christmas morning- or was it New Years Day?
As usual, our tours are full of history and geography but hidden beneath funny stories and interesting props. There may even be a sweet (surprise) treat at the end!
In honor of the Christmas spirit, a portion of the proceeds of this tour will go to help the homeless population of New Orleans. 10% of the tour price will be donated to the Bridge House of New Orleans.
